Colombus Weekend!
Haaaaa !
Finally I found blogger mobile app. This will helping me a lot on keeping update!
So. These weekends I had 3 days off because it's the Colombus Day weekend!
First friday night, Leland and Gray Union High School featuring me, held a bonfire and dancing night called "Rocktoberfest".
It was pretty amazing and even more succesful than we expected. Almost 400 people in Middle & High School comea there (Yes, we are a great small community!).
The party starts at 7 and ends at almost 11. The DJ was some guy from TechMusic class (my favorite one!).
Next day..
Saturday Run or Dye!
It's a such kind of running marathon and in some home you'll get dyed if you're not running fast enough. I was volunteering there. Its held on Stratton Mountain, the famous sky site in East Coast.
So I went there on 6 a.m. yeahh i went for sleep nearly at 1 and got up at 6. But throwing dye to people was a lot of fun!
In the evening I hang out with Freid, exchange from Germany, Pete from Thailand, and some mexican girls. We went to Georgio Pizza in Brattleborro and then went a little bit south of Brattleborro: to the Haunted Forest!
It was very cold but beautiful night and a 20 meters waiting-for-ticket-lines when we got there but those ghosts we met there was very entertaining!
Sundayy comes!
Went to the Stratton mountain again for volunteering in Vermont Falls Day and got home at 2 to volunteering again in the thriftshop next door.
Finally get some "me-time" with the guitar after dinner..
Its been pretty rough week (promise I will tell you why) and life keeps going.
Lets see how it ends. ;)
And The Journey starts......
Today I'm writing from my grandpa's computer in Pennsylvania.
Wait what? I am in Pennsylvania and having a grandpa?
Yaaah. Its definitely not because my parents born in here.
So this is was one of the dream I used to dream since my 7th grade of school in Indonesia.
That time i was thinking of having my feet stepping on another country's ground.
I was thinking that it might be the Netherland or America. But now, God gave me my 2nd choice.
Yeah so I'm here right now in The United States of America,
working and choosen as the Indonesia representatives towards an exchange year for senior high school students for 10 months.
Nobody said i'm gonna make it when I first told those people that I enroll myself in the selection.
I do believe in their opinion, since there's more than 9000 students from Indonesia who wants to get this program too.
But who knows then ?
And I'm just trying,
and didn't expect for anything.
But here I am right now.
God knows the best for you. Now I had the chance to shut their mouth up, but it wasn't the most important thing I should do here.
I had a very heavy duty. Being an ambassador for my Indonesia.
OMG like do you ever realize how big it was? how pretty much different their culture from one island to another? God must be kidding me.
But He wants me here anyway, so.... let's do this.
So I lived in Vermont, a state if you see in the map was next to New York in right side. (OMG can't believe I am standing on the right side now-_-) in a small but amazing town called West Townshend, in a very simple family, The Dolan.
But who knows? This small but big family has bought me everywhere.. like very everywhere.
I feel too much lucky for this.
In this 1st week (I arrived at 14th August), I've been in Manchester, Brattleborro, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Albany New York, Troy, New Hampshire, and now I had the chance to see how beautifully modern-but-natural Bellefonte was. It's the part of the Mighty Pennsylvania.
So..
I am on my way to dinner now. I'll write you later when I had the keyboard on my finger.
Loves,
Tha;-)
P.S This program I joined was called KL YES (Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study) which is fully funded by the United States of Departement (so you know that it cost me nothing till I get here back & forth because the American pays for me to get here, THANK YOU !)
